JCSO Arrests Pair For Break-In

SMITHFIELD – Two people were arrested after authorities said they broke into a vacant house. On July 1st around 9:19am, authorities received a report of a possible break-in on Mallard Road, just east of Smithfield.

A Smithfield police officer detained one of the suspects on Mallard Road near Interstate 95. He was identified as Vance Antonio Wynn, age 21, of Raindrop Circle, Smithfield.

Deputies located the second suspect, Amanda Christine Huggins, age 33, of the 7300 block of Brogden Road, Smithfield, inside a car parked up a path, not far away.

The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office said a window was damaged at the vacant home during the break-in. No items were reported missing.

Wynn and Huggins were charged with felony breaking and entering and misdemeanor resisting a public officer. They were held in the Johnston County Jail under $30,000 secured bonds.
