JCSO: Property Owner Arrested After Having 11 Vehicles Towed

Theodore-James-Cihos-FIA Johnston County property owner is in trouble after he allegedly took it upon himself to seize the personal property of a tenant he was attempting to evict from a business.

On August 4th, a repossession company reported that 11 vehicles and work tools valued at $45,000 had been removed from a lot they were leasing on US 70 Business near Clayton.

The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office said the property owner, Theodore James Cihos, 73, of Clayton, did not file the proper eviction paperwork. Nevertheless authorities allege he still called a towing company to have the items removed.

Cihos was charged Friday with felony larceny and felony larceny of a motor vehicle. He was released on a $10,000 bond.
