More charges have been filed against a driver involved in a serious hit and run head-on collision last Saturday night in Johnston County.
A Ford van reportedly driven by 36 year-old Charles David Crone of Drew Drive, Garner reportedly struck an SUV on Highway 50 near Highway 42. After the violent impact, Crone somehow managed to flee the scene in the heavily damaged vehicle. Previously troopers had charged Crone with driving while impaired, felony hit and run causing serious injury, and felony serious injury by a vehicle.
Three people in the SUV struck by Crone were injured.
