Several Wayne County Government Offices Closed Due To Water Damage

WAYNE COUNTY – The Jeffreys Building, located at 134 N John St. in Goldsboro, will be closed to the public and staff today, Wednesday, August 21, due to a broken water distribution pipe that has caused water damage inside the building. This closure impacts several departments, including Wayne County Human Resources, the Wellness Nurse, Planning, GIS, Inspections, and Environmental Health.

The Wayne County Facilities Department is actively working to repair the water line and has brought in an outside vendor to assist with the cleanup and drying process. Additionally, Wayne County I.T. is working diligently to restore connectivity to the affected departments.

Officials hope the office can reopen on Thursday.
