On Aug. 29th, members of the Johnston County Marine Corps League Carry-On Detachment # 1236, aka the JoCo Marines, visited with Veterans at the Durham Veterans Affairs Medical Center to host a quarterly bingo game and share camaraderie. The local organization thanked the veterans for their service to our country and made sure they had not been forgotten.

Bazemore lost his sight due to chemical exposure in Vietnam. He has been married to India Bazemore (pictured center) for 60 years. She spends countless hours next to her husband’s bedside exemplifying the meaning of true love. Contributed photo
