Johnson’s Transmission And Auto Service Is At It Again

This time it’s to aid in the fight against cancer

The company that is known for giving a car away each year, Wheels to Prosper, and $500 in repair services each month to deserving people, has teamed with Friends Fighting Cancer of Dunn in the battle against breast cancer to create Brakes For Boobs: Put a STOP To Cancer.

During the month of October, Johnson’s will donate $20 from every brake service done at the shop located at 1648 N.C. 55, Dunn.

“We wanted to make sure the money went locally,” Johnson’s general manager Don Melcher said. “So we contacted Friends Fighting Cancer here in Dunn and they were glad to partner with us.

“We’re planning on making this an annual event,” Mr. Melcher said. “Depending on how it goes this year, we might expand it next year to include commemorative T-shirts for the promotion.”

Brakes For Boobs is just the latest way Mr. Melcher and the company are giving back to the community that has supported them so well.

Each December, the business gives away a car to a deserving person from the area.

This year the giveaway will take place on Friday, Dec. 7, and nominations for the giveaway are currently being accepted.

Additionally, Johnson’s gives away $500 in repair services to a deserving person every month chosen from a committee of area churches and businesses.

“The community has enabled us to be a success,” Mr. Melcher said. “So we feel strongly to give back to that community. In fact, we feel obligated.”

Johnson’s is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday and until 5:30 p.m. on Friday. They’re closed Saturday and Sunday.
