A building collapsed this evening (Friday) after being struck by a tractor trailer. The accident happened around 5:15pm on Highway 39 at Highway 231 in northern Johnston County.
A tractor trailer collided with a small SUV at the intersection. The semi ran off the roadway and through the unoccupied building before slamming into a tree.

Two people sustained unknown injuries. Power lines were also knocked down at the intersection.
The intersection is expected to remain closed for much of the evening while the accident is cleared.
The State Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the accident.
