Johnston County House Fire Ruled Arson

PRINCETON – Investigator say a fire that heavily damaged an eastern Johnston County home was intentionally set.  The Brogden, Princeton and Pine Level Fire Departments responded Friday evening to a home on fire on Quarterhorse Road. While crews were still on the way, they were notified the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office was responding to a domestic disturbance at the same address.

Firefighters arrived and found a working fire inside the home.  All the occupants made it outside before emergency personnel arrived. One person was treated at the scene for minor smoke inhalation.

It took crews just over an hour to bring the fire under control.

The Johnston County Fire Marshal’s Office responded and was assisted by the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office. Fire Marshal Adam Stanley said Monday the fire has been ruled arson. The home most likely is a total loss, Mr. Stanley said.

Johnston County EMS also responded to the scene.
