Johnston County Lifts Water Shortage Advisory

SMITHFIELD — Johnston County Public Utilities has rescinded the water shortage advisory issued that was issued on Monday, Feb. 2. Operations have now returned to normal at the Timothy G. Broome Water Treatment Plant.

Water service across the system is stable, officials said.

Customers are encouraged to inspect their plumbing for leaks, particularly in areas that may have been affected by frozen pipes during recent cold weather. Promptly identifying and repairing leaks can help prevent unnecessary water loss and higher utility bills.

Johnston County Public Utilities thanked customers for their cooperation and patience during the advisory and apologized for any inconvenience.
