The Johnston County Health Department was awarded reaccreditation status by the North Carolina Local Health Department Accreditation Board on November 16th.
Amy Thomas, administrator for NCLHDA states “all agencies achieving reaccreditation have much to be proud of. They have not only demonstrated their ability to meet a set of important performance standards, but excelled in many areas. These agencies demonstrate a strong commitment to continuously work to improve the quality of services provided to their respective communities.”
Along with Johnston County, four other counties received reaccreditation. They include the Cherokee County Health Department, Greene County Department of Public Health, Iredell County Health Department, and Union County Human Services.
Dr. Marilyn Pearson is the director of the Johnston County Public Health Department.
