A public school bus carrying students to Cooper Academy in Clayton was involved in an accident this morning (Friday) on N. Fayetteville Street.
Emergency crews responded to the 8:37am collision involving the bus and a pickup truck. Reports indicate the driver of the pickup was backing out of a driveway and struck the bus, which was carrying 29 students. There was no damage to the school bus or truck.
Eight to 10 students reported very minor injuries and were checked out at the scene by Johnston County EMS, which responded with multiple ambulances. One student complained he struck his head and was transported to the hospital as a precaution, according to a Town of Clayton spokesperson.
Clayton Police are investigating the mishap.
