Johnston County Troopers Investigating Fatal Pedestrian Accident

KENLY, N.C. — A Kenly man was killed Saturday night after being struck by a vehicle on Shoeheel Road.

State troopers were dispatched around 10:50 p.m. May 30 to Shoeheel Road near Harvey Road following a report of a crash involving a pedestrian.

Investigators said Landon Ratley of Kenly was walking east in the middle of Shoeheel Road when he was struck by a westbound vehicle. Ratley died at the scene.

A Selma woman who was driving the vehicle stopped at the scene.

The Highway Patrol said the collision remains under investigation.
