The Johnston County girls 10U softball team won the Tar Heel League State Tournament on Sunday in Shelby, NC.
The team lost their first game 2-to-3 on Thursday night. They were forced to play six elimination games Friday,Saturday and Sunday before winning the state championship game.
Going into Sunday, the Johnston County team had to beat Shelby, the only undefeated team in the tournament twice to become the champions.
