SMITHFIELD – The Johnston County NAACP under the leadership of Dr. Gettys Cohen, Jr. has announced the 2020 scholarship winners. Three scholarships were awarded to graduating high school seniors from Johnston County to continue their college education based on academics, community service and financial need.
Lennasia Sharpless will be attending Johnston Community College. Sloane Byrd will be attending North Carolina State University. Christopher Everett will be attending UNC Chapel Hill this fall.
