It was family, food, fellowship and football on a beautiful Sunday afternoon for NC State Highway Patrol troopers at the inaugural “Trooper Bowl Championship” game in Johnston County.
The Johnston County team pulled off a 1-point victory over their Wake County trooper opponents but, it wasn’t all about the win.
There was good fellowship in the local rivalry as the normally highly disciplined law enforcement officers took time to relax and involve their families in the camaraderie of the force.
Wake County troopers have called for a rematch on the softball field in the Spring.
