The State Highway Patrol is investigating a weekend accident that sent several people to the hospital. It happened just before 9 p.m. Saturday on Highway 222 west of Kenly at Glendale Road.
Two vehicles collided at the intersection. One person was pinned in the wreckage.
Five ambulances responded to the scene and four of the EMS units transported patients to the hospital.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
