Kenly Man Fled From Deputies In Stolen Car, JCSO Says

FOUR OAKS – The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office has charged a Kenly man with several violations after he reportedly fled from deputies in a stolen car.

On March 26th, Smithfield Police asked deputies to attempt to locate a stolen car believed to be at an address in the 3800 block of Hockaday Road. Officers arrived and located the vehicle.

While a deputy was on the scene talking on his cell phone to a Smithfield police officer about the stolen vehicle he had just located, Khristopher Lee Netter, age 22, of Pineview Road, Kenly reportedly ran to the stolen car and sped away. The officer pursued Netter on Hockaday Road and then onto Strickland’s Crossroads Road before the suspect eventually stopping.

Netter was charged with fleeing to elude arrest with a motor vehicle, larceny of a motor vehicle, reckless driving, and speeding. Netter was given a $40,750 bond on the charges.
