Last Saturday, 44 KS Bank employees, spouses, and teenage children spent the day at Camp Mary Atkinson, located on Highway 42. The camp is owned and operated by NC Coastal Pines Girl Scout Council.
KS Bank sponsored the project to benefit the camp as well as allow employees to work together, outside their daily routines, with the goal of giving back to the community. Camp Mary Atkinson serves girls from all communities in eastern North Carolina.
The group painted 26 picnic tables, built two new picnic tables, cleaned 24 canvas tents and painted two large shelters at the Leadership Building and the lake waterfront.
2015 marks the ninth year that KS Bank has sponsored this corporate project at the camp and the organization plans to continue with this project in future years.
“I am very proud of the accomplishments of our employees at Camp Mary Atkinson throughout the years,” said Harold Keen, KS Bank President/CEO and former Coastal Pines of Carolina Girl Scout Board of Director. “Their hard work and many contributions to Camp Mary Atkinson have made it sparkle for the 30,000 girls and adult volunteers of the Coastal Pines of Carolina Girl Scout Council.”
