Three tracts of land at a busy Cleveland area intersection has been rezoned. Johnston County Commissioners rezoned the three parcels totaling 35.2 acres on Highway 50 at Highway 42 in the Cleveland Township from Agricultural Residential (AR) to General Business (GB). The property is on the southeast corner of the intersection.
The application was filed by White Development Company of Clearwater, Florida. Local attorney Chip Hewett represented the applicant before commissioners at the June 6 meeting.
No one spoke in opposition of the rezoning. The Johnston County Planning Board previously voted to recommend approval.
If the rumors are true this will be a grocery store that started in FL. That intersection is going to be really crazy now with 3 grocery stores and a sheetz!
Cue the NIMBYs in 3… 2… 1….
yes it will add a few more cars depending on what is built. I travel thie intersection all the time for ACE, and Lowes grocer. With new food lion, I go there for food instead of Lowes. so no new car added. Now if they put in houses, then we are in trouble with traffic
We need restaurants on this side of 50 and a subway!
