The Johnston County Department of Solid Waste has received approved from the Board of Commissioners to purchase two pieces of equipment.
The board approved a $364,258.76 expenditure to purchase a new John Deere 850L bulldozer for use at the landfill. They also approved a second request to purchase a 2021 Mack truck to transport roll-off dumpster. The state contract price was $165,068.
Funds for the equipment purchase is already included in the current fiscal year budget.
The board unanimously approved both purchases.
