Law Enforcement To Train At North Johnston High On Active School Shooter Scenario

Several agencies will be participating in an exercise on Wednesday to allow law enforcement to train on an active shooter scenario in a school building.

The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office, Johnston County Emergency Management and Johnston County Public Schools will participate in the full-scale exercise on Wednesday, May 2nd at North Johnston High School.

Wednesday is an early release day for Johnston County Schools and the training will take place at the end of the school day.

North Johnston High Principal Dr. Ben Williams and the North Johnston High staff agreed to host the exercise at their school.

Officials want the public to know there will be a large law enforcement presence at North Johnston High on Wednesday for the exercise but the community should not be alarmed.
