Members of American Legion Post 71 hosted a booth at the Clayton Harvest Festival on November 2nd.
Twenty-one members of the Post handed out poppies to the thousands of people attending the festival. While handing out the poppies, they took the opportunity to explain the meaning of Veteran’s Day, to enjoy the memories shared by the many veterans and widows – some so touching they brought tears to listener’s eyes – and to highlight the activities of the American Legion organization.
Over 50 potential members were given Legion applications and over $900 in donations were collected. The money collected will be used for academic scholarships.
