Nominations will be accepted through February 1, 2021
Nominations are currently being accepted for the Linda Vann Lassiter Women’s Society Philanthropist of the Year. The honor is awarded annually to an individual who has made a positive impact in our community through giving, and whose philanthropic leadership sets an inspiring example for all with regard to time, talents, and treasures.
Nominees must: reside in Johnston County; demonstrate a track record of charitable giving to one or more nonprofit organizations with a positive impact in the community; encourage, motivate, and inspire others to become philanthropic; volunteer and connect others to the organization through their passion; provide leadership and vision making them well-regarded in the community.
The Society was established in 2019 to honor the service of Linda Vann Lassiter, who served on the board of the Johnston Community College Foundation. The Society brings together women from diverse backgrounds with a common goal: to improve the lives of those in the community and to emulate the values that Linda held so dear: faith, family, and philanthropy. Members share gifts of their time, talents, and annual financial contributions to continually build the Linda Vann Lassiter Women’s Society Endowment Fund.
The long-term goal of the Society is to build the endowment to ensure every rising 8th grade female student in Johnston County will be eligible to receive the Linda Vann Lassiter Women’s Society Scholarship to attend JCC upon graduation from high school.
Nominations may be submitted through February 1, 2021 at https://www.johnstoncc.edu/foundation/lvl/philanthropy.aspx.
