The North Carolina Optometric Society (NCOS) has announced the election of Dr. Michael Haines as the organizations 2018-2019 President.
Dr. Haines has served in a volunteer leadership role with the NCOS for a number of years. He has served on the Executive Council as President of the Eastern District Optometric Society, Trustee, Secretary/Treasurer, Vice-President and President-Elect.
Dr. Haines previously served as President of the NC Board of Optometry and currently serves as a board member. He is also a Johnston County Board of Health board member.
Dr. Haines received his Bachelor of Science degree from Marshall University in Huntington, WV. He went on to receive his Doctor of Optometry degree from Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, IL in 1984.
Dr. Haines owns Haines Vision Care in Smithfield and has been practicing optometry in North Carolina for close to 35 years. He and his wife, Ginger, who reside in Four Oaks, have three children.
The North Carolina Optometric Society (NCOS) is a community of optometrists dedicated to delivering comprehensive eye care services accessible by all North Carolinians.
