Caroline Daily, an eighth grade language arts teacher at Riverwood Middle, has been appointed to the Governor’s Task Force on Safer Schools.

Daily was sworn in by state Supreme Court Justice Bob Edmunds during the task force’s meeting held at the N.C. Department of Public Safety in Raleigh on April 6.

She will serve a two-year term and is the only North Carolina teacher on the committee.

“I am so proud of Ms. Daily for representing teachers and schools,” said Riverwood Middle School Principal Kerri Evans. “She is an asset to Johnston County Schools.”

As a member Daily will assist the task force in providing guidance to the N.C. Center for Safer Schools and help consider future policy and legislative action that is needed to improve school safety in North Carolina.
