Man Accused Of Stealing Car Parts

SELMA – On June 28 around 12:48 p.m., a concerned citizen called Johnston County deputies after seeing suspicious activity at a home on Bizzell Grove Church Road.

Officers said the caller reported seeing an unknown person loading items into a truck and it appeared to be a larceny in progress.

Deputies reportedly found Joshua Hunter Crocker of Jacksonville Lane, Selma at the address. Crocker claimed he had permission to remove the items.

Officers were able to locate the property owner. The owner said they did not know Crocker and no one had permission to remove any items.

Crocker was reportedly in the process of attempting to steal three radiators, three wheels, a catalytic converter, cart and hand tools when he was caught by officers. The items had a combined value of $3,100.

Crocker was charged with three felony counts of attempted larceny, one count of felony larceny, and one count of felony larceny of motor vehicle parts.

He was held on a $30,000 secured bond at the Johnston County Detention Center.
