Man Arrested For DWI In Church Parking Lot
A man was arrested overnight for driving while impaired in the parking lot of a Selma church, which was only two blocks away from his home.

Around midnight Sunday, Selma Police were dispatched to a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of the River Oak Church of God at 903 W. Oak Street. Officers arrived and said they found 28 year-old Eddy Alberto Diaz Perez of W. Walnut Street sitting behind the wheel of a Nissan pickup.
Perez reportedly told officers he had consumed two beers but had not been driving. Police said he failed a field sobriety test and later registered 0.09 on the Breathalyzer, above the legal limit of 0.08.
Perez was released on $1,000 bail charged with driving while impaired and having an open container of alcohol.
