A Raleigh man was arrested for habitual impaired driving following a traffic stop on Highway 210 near McGee’s Crossroads Wednesday night.
A concerned citizen dialed 911 after getting behind a van reportedly weaving in traffic and nearly striking another vehicle head-on. A sheriff’s deputy spotted the van, which was displaying a license plate reported stolen in Raleigh, and conducted a traffic stop.
The driver, 59 year-old Randolph Patrick Syska, was arrested for driving while impaired, driving without a license, habitual driving while impaired, and possession of stolen property. Bail was set at $50,000.
Officials said Syska had several prior DWI convictions.
