Man Arrested for Murder

A 34 year-old man is facing murder charges following a deadly confrontation.

On Friday, Nash County deputies responded to a report of a person not breathing on Highway 97.

Upon arrival, deputies said they determined the victim had been assaulted and died as a result.

David Lee Durham, 34, was identified as the suspect. He has been charged with second degree murder. He was confined in the Nash County Detention Center and given a $1 million bond. His next court appearance is scheduled for September 8 in Nashville.

Authorities said the case remains under investigation. The name of the victim has not been released.
