A 20 year-old man was hospitalized this morning (Tuesday) after being beaten then run over by a car.
The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office said the incident happened outside a home on Ballard Lane just east of I-95 in Selma.
Around 4:45am, authorities said the victim was attacked in his front yard by at least two people. The victim’s mother heard the altercation and ran outside causing the suspects to jump into the car and flee. While fleeing from the scene they ran over the victim.
The victim, whose name has not been released, was rushed to Wake Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries.
Sheriff’s Detective Lt. Don Pate said authorities are looking for two suspects. No additional information was released including a possible motive.
