A man who allegedly tried to return two stolen sandwiches for a refund is facing felony charges.
On January 20th, a woman reportedly went into the Sheetz convenience store on Highway 210 at McGee’s Crossroads and left without paying for two sandwiches valued at $10.65. Video surveillance reportedly shows a male suspect outside the store return with the items, saying he wanted a refund because he found a hair in one of the food items.
Both suspects left before deputies arrived.
On Wednesday, Kyle Thomas Foley, 23, of the 8100 block of Highway 210 North, Angier was arrested by Johnston County deputies. Foley was charged with obtaining property by false pretenses and conspiracy to obtain property by false pretenses. Both charges are felonies. Bond was set at $5,000.
Johnston County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Tammy Amaon said the female suspect has still not been identified.
