Man Critically Injured In Selma Shooting

SELMA — A 20-year-old man was critically injured Thursday afternoon in a shooting at a Selma apartment complex, according to the Selma Police Department.
Officers responded at approximately 3:51 p.m. to a report of a shooting at The Meadows Apartments, located at 601 Ricks Road.

When officers arrived, they found a 20-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound. EMS provided immediate medical treatment at the scene before transporting the victim to Wake Med in Raleigh. At last report, the victim was listed in critical but stable condition.
Detective Sgt. J.R. Vause said the motive for the shooting remains unknown, and no suspects had been identified.

The incident is under active investigation by the Selma Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division.
