The Sampson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the murder of a 20 year-old man.
Just before midnight Friday, the Sampson County 911 Center received a call reporting multiple gunshots near the Dogwood Acres Mobile Home Park on US701 near Clinton.
A short time later, another call was received saying a vehicle had crashed into a utility pole in front of the park.
First responders found the body of Christopher Anjantre Wright inside the vehicle.
Captain Eric Pope with the Sampson County Sheriff’s Office said the incident is being treated as a homicide. Investigators processed the crime scene for evidence and have interviewed residents who live in the area.
