A suspect has been arrested in connection with the weekend murder of a Benson man. Zachary Tyler Johnson, 23, of Raeford Road, Angier was arrested earlier today on a first-degree murder warrant and taken before a magistrate.
At 4:06pm Saturday, Harnett County deputies responded to a 911 call reporting a shooting and assault at 15 Cater Lane near Lillington. Deputies found two people at the scene had been shot. Montice Williams, 31, of Benson was pronounced dead at the scene. A second person, Zachary Tyler Johnson, sustained a non-life threatening gunshot wound and was transported to the hospital.
Deputies have not released a motive. Johnson is being held in the Harnett County Jail with no bond.
