JOHNSTON COUNTY – One person was shot and killed at a Johnston County convenience store. The shooting was reported around 4:47pm Sunday at the Shop N Go at 13569 NC 39, Zebulon.
The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office arrived to find one person deceased inside the business. Authorities questioned the alleged shooter, a store clerk, before the individual was released at the scene.
The name of the victim was withheld pending notification of their next of kin. Authorities said additional information would be released as soon as possible.
In 2016, a store clerk was shot and killed during a robbery at the same business.

Wow this store has a bad reputation for people getting shot. I used to stop there when I was in the area but stopped going there because too many people hang out in front of the store. Maybe they need security on the premises. Definitely would not want to work there. It’s not safe.
I work in law enforcement in a different county but I’m hearing the dude who was shot was attempting to rob the place again. Just repeating what I’m hearing on our end.
