A man operating a zero turn mower was seriously injured in a weekend accident near Kenly.
It was reported at 12:21pm Saturday on Johnston Parkway Road near I-95.
Authorities said the victim, 31 year-old Daniel Lee Vice of Lafayette, Louisiana was operating a mower near a ditch bank when it apparently slid into the ditch and overturned ejected Vice onto a piece of rebar protruding from the ground.
Vice reported sustained cuts and broken bones in the accident and was rushed to the hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
The incident remains under investigation.
