KENLY – Two people were arrested during an early morning drug search warrant. The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division executed the warrant on May 10 at a home in the 12500 block of NC Highway 42 East, in the Stancil’s Chapel community, outside of Kenly.

Agents said they seized approximately 14 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 30 grams of mushrooms, 3 grams of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and a small amount of US currency.

Agents located Nickie Ray Smith at the residence. Smith was wanted on a federal arrest warrant for narcotics possession.

Elizabeth Rodriguez, 27, of Goldsboro was arrested on state charges for six drug offenses including possession with intent to sell or deliver a controlled substance and maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for a controlled substance. Rodriquez was also wanted for probation violation and failure to appear in court for a misdemeanor marijuana possession charge.
Rodriquez was held on a $67,000 bond. Smith was held without bond.
