Man Wanted In Johnston County Captured After Harnett County Chase
LILLINGTON, N.C. — A man wanted by the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office for assault on a law enforcement officer was arrested Tuesday afternoon following a vehicle pursuit through Harnett County, authorities said.
Harnett County sheriff’s deputies attempted to stop a vehicle around 3:34 p.m. on U.S. Highway 421 near Prospect Church Road in Erwin, according to a news release. The driver, identified as 28-year-old Dominic Juwan Williams, failed to stop and continued north toward Lillington.
During the pursuit, the suspect’s vehicle struck several vehicles driven by civilians, officials said.
Deputies used a Precision Immobilization Technique, or PIT maneuver, near the intersection of U.S. Highway 401 North and Autumn Fern Trail to bring the pursuit to an end. Williams then fled on foot but was apprehended a short distance away.
Authorities said Williams will be charged with felony fleeing to elude arrest, with additional charges pending.
No injuries were reported.
