BENSON – A Johnston County man was killed while in the front yard of his home. Scott Charles Pacinelli was watering plants in his front yard around 9:00pm Wednesday.
According to the State Highway Patrol, Niklas Daronte’ Freeman, 19, of Clayton failed to stop for a stop sign at the T-intersection of Zack’s Mill Road and Raleigh Road.
Freeman traveled through the intersection and into the yard, striking Pacinelli, then colliding with his home.
Pacinelli, age 60, died from his injuries. His partner of 20 years, Kimberly Norris, and their teenage daughter were at home but escaped injury.
Niklas Freeman was charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle, reckless driving, driving after consuming under age 21, failure to wear a seat belt, failure to stop at a stop sign, and failure to maintain lane control. He was released Thursday on a $25,000 secured bond.
According to his obituary, Scott Pacinelli was a mechanic and manager of AAA Car Care Center in Raleigh. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, golfing, cooking, working in his yard, and spending time with his family and friends. A GoFundMe account has been established to help with funeral expenses.

This is a LIE !!!!! He was not in his vehicle when it hit that man he lost control of his vehicle and hopped out of his moving vehicle to avoid injury to himself not realizing he would cause someone else harm ! This is false and it needs to be corrected ASAP !

Your statement defies all logic! If he had time to hop out of a moving vehicle (versus being thrown out due to no seatbelt), then he would have had time to hit the brakes. Drunk people don’t think rationally. Teenagers don’t think rationally. When will people start facing the facts?
Lost control because he was intoxicated and ran a stop sign. KILLING an innocent man in his front yard. Own up to it. Many lives have been destroyed by this boys criminal action. Should be behind bars for life.

Why does the #FakeMedia only report immigration status for certain crimes (even here on this site)? Everyone should be treated the same! What are they hiding?
While certain actions may be criminal, or illegal, people cannot be illegal. Although, in the US, it is a federal crime to enter the country without inspection, it is not a crime to be present within the country without authorization. Words matter.
