Two suspects jumped and ran from the scene of an accident Saturday night on Buffalo Road just south of Highway 70 between Smithfield and Selma.
Reports indicate a stolen pickup truck collided with a car. The truck then overturned. Two people in the stolen truck then fled on foot.
The NC Highway Patrol, Johnston County Sheriff’s Office and Selma Police Department responded to the scene to assist in the manhunt. The suspects could not be found and the search was called off.
A short time later, a concerned citizen called Wilson’s Mills Police after spotting a suspicious person. The man matched the description of the suspect in the stolen truck. He was taken into custody for questioning.
