Smithfield Police arrested the driver of a SUV stopped for a traffic violation on E. Market Street after marijuana was reportedly located in the vehicle. Police said the stopped a 2006 GMC Yukon around 3:10am Monday.
During a search, 82.1 grams of suspected marijuana was seized.
Trae Marcell Mack, 26, of N. Fayetteville Street, Clayton was charged with felony possession of marijuana and felony maintaining a vehicle for a controlled substance. Mack was transported to the Johnston County Jail and held under a $20,000 bond.
