Max G. Creech Selma Historical Museum Announces Summer Programs

The Max G. Creech Selma Historical Museum is proud to announce its summer programs.

“This summer we are going to offer a wide range of activities, events and programs for families, groups, students and history lovers”, states Eric Jackson, Education and Projects Coordinator.

Here is a list of events:

  • Tuesday, June 25th at 11:00 AM will be the Annual Juneteenth Celebration. This will be a program looking at the history and meaning of “Juneteenth” a holiday, which celebrates the announcement of the ending of slavery in Texas in 1865.
  • Wednesdays in July at 11:00 AM  will be entitled  “Sweet Tea and Spicy Talk”. This will be a lighthearted look at some historical events along with good conversation and fellowship. “Bring a bag lunch the museum will have iced tea and cookies”, says Jackson.
