It was a packed house inside the Benson Baptist Church Fellowship Hall this morning (Thursday) for the Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast — a Benson tradition coinciding with National Day of Prayer.
Mayor Jerry Medlin led the morning function.
New Life Church’s Pastor Randy Lucas opened with a blessing. NC Senator Jim Burgin led the Pledge of Allegiance and Ava Grace Jernigan sang the National Anthem.
The Benson Baptist Church Praise Band performed a few songs and guest speaker Jon Decker closed the event with a message — reminding everyone that “this is the day.”
