Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast Held In Benson

The Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast has quickly become a Benson tradition on National Day of Prayer.

This year, Benson Mayor Jerry Medlin hosted a crowd inside the Benson Baptist Church Fellowship Hall.

Special music from Travis Johnson, Randy Lee, Doug McDonald, Tony McLamb, and Larry Nunnery.

On the Thursday morning program — Ava Grace Jernigan sang the National Anthem, Benson UMC Pastor Al Hocutt opened with a prayer, and there was special music from Travis Johnson, Randy Lee, Doug McDonald, Tony McLamb, and Larry Nunnery.

The guest speaker Kendall Tart Dunn expanded upon the theme of “unity” to a standing ovation from the room. Shirley Blue with Bread of Life Ministries provided the benediction.

In addition to the Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast, local officials, emergency service personnel, and local church leaders also come together in the Singing Grove on National Day of Prayer to pray for the Benson community.
