The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office located a methamphetamine lab on Tuesday.
Sheriff’s drug agents said the meth lab was found inside a vacant mobile home on Deer Tracks Drive off Wendell Road in northern Johnston County.
Johnston County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Captain A.C. Fish said the property was vacant and was in the process of being sold. An individual was attempting to repair a water leak inside the home when they located the meth lab hidden underneath the enclosure for a garden tub.
The NC SBI was called to the scene to clean up the hazardous materials. Authorities said the owner of the home or buyer had no knowledge about the meth lab being inside the residence.
Captain Fish said no charges will be filed.
