Meth Lab Found Inside Fire-Damaged Home

juniper rd fire 3The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office confirmed Monday a methamphetamine lab was found inside a home that caught fire and burned last week near Four Oaks.

Around 4:45pm last Thursday, Blackmon’s Crossroads and Four Oaks fire crews responded to 1071 Juniper Road for a house fire. The flames were quickly extinguished but the fire was immediately determined to be suspicious.

The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office, Johnston County Fire Marshal’s Office and NC SBI responded to the scene.

juniper rd fire 1Authorities have not said what sparked the fire but confirmed Monday meth lab components were found inside the burned dwelling.

Lennis-Shawn-Turnage-FILennis Shawn Turnage, 36, of the same address, was charged Sunday night with manufacturing methamphetamines, possess-distribute meth precursors, maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
