Four people were arrested over-the-weekend after a methamphetamine lab was found in a motel room.
Around 2:30pm Saturday, a Four Oaks police officer was traveling through the parking lot at Travelers Inn on Highway 96 at US 701 next to Interstate 95.The officer spotted a person they believed had an outstanding warrant walk inside a room.
Police confirmed with the motel manager that person, Gary Thad Dudley II, 29, of Garner was staying in the room. Police also confirmed with dispatchers there was an outstanding warrant for his arrest.
Police knocked on the door and Dudley answered. He was placed in handcuffs.
Police Chief Steven Anderson said officers immediately detected a very strong chemical odor inside the room. An active meth lab was subsequently found in the bathroom. Three other people in the room were detained. All had outstanding felony warrants for their arrests.
They include: Johnny Brian Guin, 39, of Four Oaks, Billie Jean Snyder, 42, of Four Oaks, and Kayla Danielle Robertson, 20, of Garner. All were charged with manufacturing methamphetamine and maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance among other drug violations.
