Dozens of people turned out Tuesday night at the Benson Singing Grove for a candle light vigil for a missing man. The parents of Christopher “Cole” Thomas of Live Oak, Florida thanked the community for their efforts in trying to find their son during the vigil which was held from 6 until 8pm. Cole was last seen in the Benson city limits by two of his friends on the morning of November 25th. He has not been seen since.
Cole’s mother said Benson Police and the NC SBI are “making progress” in finding her son. Benson Police have led 27 separate searches for the 22 year-old man, and with the help of the SBI have spent more than 1,500 man hours looking for him.
A reward is being offered for information leading to Cole’s whereabouts. Authorities have not said publicly if they suspect foul play in his disappearance. Photos by John Payne
