A well known Johnston County church alerted authorities Tuesday about the theft of money from their place of worship.
The Cleveland Community Church, known as C3, located at 8246 Cleveland Road, Clayton filed a report with the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office after $300 disappeared from a donation box.
The first theft occurred March 20th. Officials said $100 in cash was missing from a lock box containing money to fund a missions trip.
The following Sunday, March 27th, an additional $200 in cash was missing from the same lock box.
Sheriff’s investigators said they have no suspect or suspects in the case, but the incident has been forwarded to the detectives division.
