A Clayton man was arrested for allegedly driving while impaired near Cleveland High School Tuesday afternoon.
Just after 2:00pm, a deputy sheriff stopped the operator of a moped for a traffic violation on Polenta Road near the school. The officer reported the driver failed a field sobriety test.
James Paul Phillips, 44, of Plantation Road, Clayton was charged with driving while impaired. A blood sample was taken from Phillips.
He was given a $1,000 bond on the charge.
